Posts vs. Articles: LinkedIn posts are for your audience — engagement, conversation, visibility in the feed. LinkedIn articles are long-form pieces designed to get picked up by AI search engines (ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity) so people searching for mortgage info find YOU. Both matter, different purposes.

LinkedIn Profile Optimization

Complete these updates before your first post goes live

1 Update Your Headline

Your headline is the first thing people see. We're keeping all your info — just reordering it so your specialty leads and the NMLS number moves to the end where it belongs.

Copy & paste this as your new headline
All In One Loan Specialist | Senior Loan Officer/Branch Manager at CMG Home Loans | NMLS 205706
2 Replace Your About Section

Replace your entire About section with this new version. It leads with the All In One Loan and your social proof, then flows into your personal message.

Copy & paste this as your new About section
I specialize in the All In One Loan, a mortgage structure designed to help homeowners pay off their loan significantly faster without changing their lifestyle or making extra payments. With 387 five-star reviews and a team with over 60 years of combined experience, we make sure every client fully understands their options before making a decision. I have been providing top notch customer service and closing home loans here in Southern Oregon for over 20 years now. I am a man of my word and pride myself on going "above and beyond" as so many of my past clients and business partners have kindly put it. I take great pride in educating my clients on loan options while helping them choose the best home loan product for their unique set of circumstances. I feel very blessed to be in this industry and to have the option to earn business partners, friends, and clients for life along the way.
3 Add a Featured Section

This is a section on your LinkedIn profile that you haven't been using — and it's one of the most valuable pieces of real estate on the entire platform. The Featured section sits right at the top of your profile, above your experience and everything else. When someone visits your page, these are the first links they see. Most LinkedIn users completely ignore this section, which means most loan officers aren't using it either. That's an advantage. It also matters for AI — tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI pull from LinkedIn profiles when answering questions about professionals. The more places your name is linked to "All In One Loan," the more likely you surface when someone asks an AI who specializes in it. We're going to start using this section now and keep it updated going forward.

  1. Go to your LinkedIn profile (click "Me" at the top, then "View Profile")
  2. If you don't already have a Featured section, click the "Add profile section" button near the top of your profile, then select "Featured"
  3. Click the + icon in the Featured section
  4. Choose "Add a link"
  5. Paste your Sachs Realty video URL and add a title like: "How to Pay Off Your Mortgage Faster (Sachs Realty Interview)"
  6. Click Save
  7. Repeat to add your CMG page: cmghomeloans.com/mysite/mike-newmann

Anytime you're featured on a podcast, YouTube channel, news article, or any other media — come back here and repeat these steps to add it. Your Featured section should always showcase your best and most recent appearances.
